Startup Corner is an initiative of YES!Delft, MRDH and StartupDelta, powered by the industry. Together, we work on a stronger connection between tech startups and the industry in the Dutch ecosystem to accelerate tech innovation.
YES!Delft differentiates itself in the incubator market by dealing with complex products in challenging markets. In startups with hardware components, there’s run-up time, long development trajectories and expensive prototyping involved. As we’ve been in this game for over 12 years, our proven programs and our valuable ecosystem are perfectly matched with these difficulties. We acknowledge that the Dutch ecosystem is fragmented market with many initiatives, which makes it very difficult for startups to get access to the right information. Initiating the Startup Corner, we connect startups, partners and investors in a very efficient way.
23 municipalities are jointly working on a sustainable international Metropolitan region where people can live, work and relax. We focus on strengthening the accessibility and economic business climate of the Rotterdam-The Hague region. For this we have to renew in quadruplicate: renew connections, renew energy, renew economy and renew city and environment. By investing in the Startup Corner, the 23 municipalities improve the start-up climate in the region.
We believe in the added value of strengthening, connecting and growing the thriving startup ecosystem of the Netherlands. We see the Netherlands as the best possible place for starting, growing and internationalizing business, and as a gateway to the rest of Europe. With our unique connection to all layers of government, corporations and the main innovation hubs, we aim to merge the Dutch startup ecosystem into one single connected hub. We break down barriers and improve access to talent, capital, networks, knowledge and markets. The core team, innovation hubs, and partners each take the lead on specific actions. This way, change happens right where it is needed; for the ecosystem, with the ecosystem. Additionally, we actively support initiatives of other stakeholders to be more effective in expanding and strengthening the ecosystem
As an experienced intrapreneur, I’ve started setting up Startup Corner, a YES!Delft spin-out, about half a year ago. I saw much unused potential in the ecosystem. YES!Delft and her partners have an extremely broad and global network with tons of knowledge. However, not many startups are aware that they are able to tap into this.
Startup Corner is initiated out of urgency. Working at YES!Delft, we get a lot of input from tech entrepreneurs that are hitting walls. Startups are really busy building up their organization and should not waste time searching for what they need, like information on requesting a subsidy or how to create a contract for an employee with stocks.
